Tiarra

Tiarra was adopted by Celia Diane Oakley of Winterville, NC.

Tiarra is doing fine. She will turn 4 next Thursday. Her birthday is November 1st. I have now had her for 3 months. She is now 21 pounds. She has a good appetite but she has had that the whole time. She is really enjoying the fence in yard and is ready to go out the minute I get home from work. This has lead me to get a new backdoor and put a doggie door in it. We just got it this past Friday so now I am trying to train her to use it. She will go out but still hesitate on going in. She will just sit on my deck and watch the neighborhood and waits for something to happen or the dogs behind my house to come out. She still does not like other dogs very well especially when she is on a lease. She will go after them and growl at them. She is protecting her territory as a trainer told me. We are going to some basic obedience classes and socialization starting the first week of November . Hopefully this will get her used to other dogs. She is house trained and leased trained very well but have to watch walking her because of that herding instinct she will go after a car. She is just so curious and wants to be with you at all times. She loves to ride in the car but barks /growls at the big trucks and school buses. She wants to ride in your lap but I bought her a pillow so she could see better and she just sits there and watches everything goes by. We are working on this issue but slowly. She went on a ferry ride in the middle of September when I went to Ocracoke with my family. She did fine. She did not know what to think of the beach with the water and shells. She is very intrigue with squirrels. She stayed with my parents and they have squirrels around their screened in deck always going after the bird food. I do not think she had seen one before. My dad will just let her out on the deck and she will just sit there and wait for them. She now looks for them around trees. He said she is a trip just watching her and the squirrels. I think she is happy and knows she is staying. She enjoys playing with her blanket and tug of war. She is very sociable to other human beings and makes them pay attention to her. She loves attention. We have not had any more problems with her ear. Dr. Feezer said it looks great and could not believe someone would give her up. I am so lucky to have gotten her and really have enjoyed her. She is really a great dog. I just think she has not been outside a lot and everything is so new to her that she barks at it and tries to go after it. She is just curious and wants to be with someone at all times so she goes with me whenever possible. Thanks Diane
