Personality & Progress (2/5/2026)
Toby is a sweet, playful boy who is thriving in his foster home and showing more of his delightful personality every day. He has a wonderfully silly side and can often be found happily playing tug with his foster siblings or borrowing his foster moms neck pillow for a well-earned nap. As he continues to settle in, Tobys confidence and charm keep blossoming.
Socialization & Home Life
Toby has earned himself the title of ladies man and clearly enjoys female companionship. Hes a thoughtful, observant dog who prefers to build relationships at his own pace. When hes ready, hell happily seek out affection from his foster mom and enjoys those quiet moments of connection.
He can be a little cautious when meeting new people and may bark or retreat at first, but with patience and gentle reassurance, he warms up nicely. Toby will do best in a calm, understanding home that allows him the time and space to feel secure. He has not been behaviorally tested with cats while in our care.
Training & Routine
Toby has made fantastic progress with his house training and confidently uses a dog door. He thrives on consistency and enjoys knowing what to expect each day. While his leash skills are still developing, positive, reward-based training classes would be a great way for Toby to build confidence and strengthen his bond with his future adopter.
Crate & Safety
Because food may have been limited earlier in his life, Toby is very food-motivated and eager at mealtimes. He can become excited when food is being prepared or when its time to settle into his crate, especially since he associates these moments with good things. A calm, predictable routine helps him feel his best.
A securely fenced yard is important for Toby. It gives him a safe place to run, play, and enjoy his zoomies and has been a big part of his house-training success.
The Ideal Match
Toby is looking for a patient, loving home with a fenced yard and a furry friend where he can continue building confidence and trust at his own pace. For an adopter who enjoys forming a meaningful bond and celebrating small victories, Toby is ready to become a loyal, affectionate companion and a cherished member of the family.
